STAR WARS
trilogy Wery special edition: Inspired by the success of the
1997 release of the Star Wars Trilogy: Special Edition, creator George Lucas was
determined to find yet another way to make even more money from the same, old movies.
After nine months of market research and two additional days of shooting and editing,
Lucasfilm, Ltd. unveiled its newest masterpiece, the Star Wars Trilogy: Very Special
Edition.

| For the VSE, the original three
films (A New Hope, SW2: Electric Boogaloo, and Return of the Jedi) have been repackaged
with a few new scenes, a couple new plot elements that don't really lead anywhere, and a
new "R" rating. But creator George Lucas studiously avoids describing the VSE as
an improvement over the original or Special Edition releases: "Well, I wouldn't say
that it's better than the earlier ones. I mean, I guess it's more, if you know what I
mean. But better? I mean, who's to say? Um... I mean... Well, okay, I haven't actually
seen the Very Special Edition yet. But I'm sure it's great. And it's definitely more. And
you should buy it." |
